Youth Perishables

General Rules

Youth Perishables Check-In: Sunday, September 8, 2019: 11am-5pm

  1. All youth through age 19 may participate.
  2. Exhibits must be property of youth entering and produced by the youth since September 2018.
  3. No entry fee will be charged.
  4. Exhibitor may enter one exhibit in each lot.
  5. All canning exhibits must be in standard jars (1/2 pints, pints, quarts and standard jelly jars). Items not in standard jars will be disqualified.
  6. All paintings and drawings must be framed and wired, ready for hanging.
  7. Exhibits MUST be picked up Monday, September 16th, 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm. (Fair IS NOT responsible for Exhibits not picked up)
  8. A best of show ribbon will be awarded in the craft, culinary, and stitch and sew classes.  Culinary MUST be edible.
  9. Baking items should be entered on paper plates in zip-lock bags. Bread items should be 1/2 large loaf or 1 mini loaf; whole cakes & pies.
  10. If a youth would like to enter an item in which there is not a class in the Youth Department, then it may be entered in the adult section.
  11. ALL ENTRIES IN CANNING, CULINARY, CRAFTS AND STITCH AND SEW MUST BE MADE SOLELY BY THE PERSON ENTERING THE ITEM.
  12. Fair reserves the right to disqualify or remove any exhibits deemed inappropriate.

Should be brought on paper plates in zip-lock bags. 1/2 large loaf or 1 whole small loaf.

  • Lot 01   Applesauce Loaf Bread
  • Lot 02  Banana Loaf Bread

  • Lot 05  Plain Cornmeal Muffins or Sticks (3)
  • Lot 06  Plain Yeast Loaf Bread (no use of bread machine)
  • Lot 07  Plain Yeast Rolls (3)
  • Lot 08  Sweet Yeast Rolls (3)
  • Lot 09  Miscellaneous Bread

Enter three (3) of each on paper plate in zip-lock bags.

  • Lot 01  Candy with nuts

  • Lot 04  Molded Candy
  • Lot 05  Any Other Candy

Bring whole cake in these lots. The whole cakes should be covered.

  • Lot 03  Most Unusual Cake (ingredients: sausage, tomato soup, etc. – bring recipe)

Clover Kitchen Award

  1. Fair participant must enter at least seven items in lots listed under breads, cakes, candy, cookies and/or pies.
  2. Winner will be determined by the following point system:
    FIRST PLACE award – 3 points;
    SECOND PLACE award – 2 points;
    THIRD PLACE award – 1 point.
  3. Persons who have won a total of two years will be retired as Clover Kitchen Supreme. They will not be allowed to compete for this award, but may continue to enter exhibits for ribbons and premium money.

Fresh Fruits & Vegetables
