General Rules

 

  1. 2019 theme is 164 Years Tennessee Proud. A special commemorative ribbon will be awarded to each exhibitor following the fair.
  2. Awards and premiums for the 2019 winners will be First, Second, and Third place in each lot, King and Queen of the Kitchen, Clover Kitchen (youth), Best of Show, Best Cake Baker, Best Pie Baker, Largest Pumpkin, and Largest Watermelon.
  3. All exhibits must be made by the exhibitor. Cut flowers, crops, potted plants, fruits and vegetables must be grown by the exhibitor.
  4. All items must not have been exhibited before at the West Tennessee State Fair.
  5. Exhibitors may only enter one item in each lot.
  6. The committee reserves the right to refuse to accept any exhibit considered unsuitable for the fair.
  7. Two divisions include;
    a. Youth division 2 – 19 year olds (Youth may enter Adult Division if no category is offered in Youth Department.)
    b. Adult division for ages 20 and above.
  8. Exhibitors are restricted from the exhibit area during judging.
  9. All articles exhibited at owner’s risk, but reasonable precautions will be taken for the protection of your exhibits.
  10. Exhibits picked up before the release time, will forfeit prize money. Prize money will not be released to anyone except whose name in on the envelope. Photo ID is required for all releases. Minors without a photo ID need to have an adult with ID present. Pickup will be Monday, September 16, 1pm-6pm.

Honey

Honey Rules

  1. Only one exhibit in each lot can be entered.
  2. All exhibits must be claimed on Monday, September 16, 2019, between 1:00pm-6:00pm or they will be disposed of by the Fair Association.
  3. Entries must be harvested by the person entering the honey.
  4. All entries must be in a pint size jar with no label or fabric topper.
  5. Judging will be on container appearance, purity, freedom of crystals & form, and flavor. Honey samples will be given water test. Lots 5 & 6 will be judged on appearance & taste.

Rules

  1. Exhibitors must be amateurs. An amateur is a person who earns less than 25 percent of his/her income from the taking and/or sale of photographs.
  2. Work must be original work by the artist entering and not previously shown at the West Tennessee State Fair.
  3. Photos must be 5×7. All photos must be firmly and individually mounted on thick card stock or photo board. The trim MUST NOT exceed half-inch around the photo. No matted photographs will be accepted.
  4. NO FRAMED PHOTOS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  5. All photos must have on the back of each entry:
    Name and Phone Number of the owner.
    Class Name (i.e. People, Animals, Scenic, etc.)
    Lot Number and Lot Name
  6. Exhibitors will be allowed only one entry in any lot. The same photo will not be accepted in more than one lot.
  7. No visible watermarks, collage work, or computer enhancement consisting of objects or shapes not present in the original scene and added to the photo or excessive distortions will be accepted. Metallic prints will be excluded or disqualified.
  8. Entries may be color, sepia, monochromatic, or black & white.
  9. All work submitted is at the photographer’s own risk. The West Tennessee State Fair cannot assume responsibility for lost or damaged art work.
  10. All first place entries will be judged for Best of Show.
  11. Exhibits MUST be picked up Monday, September 16th, 1pm-6pm. Fair is Not responsible for exhibits not picked up.
